Lake Barrington Wild Onion Misfit
Wild Onion started brewing beer outside of Chicago in 1996. Their beer portfolio currently consists of around a dozen regular and seasonal beers. Hanover Wine and Spirits currently has two beers from Wild Onion in stock. They are the Misfit and the Hop Slayer (Double IPA) in stock.
Now being an IPA, you really need to try it to get a good feeling on what the beer is like. So let’s get into the beer a little.

What did we think?
We pour our IPAs into a glass to unleash the full aroma of the beer. The beer pours a rich amber coloring and will produce a nice foamy head when poured. The beer was easy to control and we were able to regulate just how much foam we had by adjusting the angle of the glass. The head quickly recedes leaving only the body of the beer. When you breathe in the fragrance of the beer, the first thing that jumps out at you is a light malt smell.
First impression is that the Citra hops jump out at you right out of the can. The initial bitterness from the Centennial hops lightly hits the back of your tongue followed by a refreshing citrus finish to the beer.
Now this beer is defiantly not over the top hopped if that is what you are looking for. The Hop Slayer will take care of that need if you so desire.
Not a one and done beer, you can sit back and enjoy a few of them.
The Beer Guys from Hanover rate this a must have beer in your refrigerator. A great beer for those days when your neighbor stops over unexpectedly, on your deck on a sunny day or on the lake. Misfit is a FIT for all occasions.
